Scenario: Pathfinder Society Scenario #42: Echoes of the Everwar—Part II: The Watcher of Ages (7-11)
Hundreds of years ago a once mighty fortress in Cheliax sank into the earth and was forever destroyed. You are sent there to catalog the ruins, known as the Collapsed Halls, and to find the rumored hidden tomb of an Osiriani concubine. After clearing the ruins of hideous beasts, you explore deeper into the ruins than anyone before you and uncover a malevolent intelligence that has watched Golarion for more than 5,000 years. Worse, he knows you're coming.
The Watcher of Ages is part 2 of the Echoes of the Everwar series. Parts 1, 2, and 3 can be played in any order and part 4 must be played last. Look for part 3, Pathfinder Society Scenario #43: Terror at Whistledown, in February 2010.

AtlantaPFS Convention Update |

Anyone who’s been involved with GeorgiaPFS and AtlantaPFS is familiar with the two mainstay conventions we’ve supported – MomoCon and DragonCon. Last year, we picked up a third convention – Southern-Fried Gaming Expo.
This year, we’ve picked up two more events – Marietta the Gathering and Multiverse.
Marietta the Gathering is in its first year and is being put together by the City of Marietta Department of Parks & Recreation. They reached out to invite us to participate in the inaugural event, and we are going to do whatever we can to help make it both memorable and successful. We plan to run sessions of both PF2 and SF Beginner Boxes, PF2 and SF Bounties, and “Build & Play” sessions where players and Game Masters will discuss and work on building characters the players can then run through a Bounty immediately after creation is completed.
One of our former Venture-Officers is involved with Multiverse, and has been discussing our participation with their Gaming Director. As of today, we’ve been asked/given the okay to join in the fun with some introductory adventures to help people learn the games, putting emphasis on games where people can drop in, pick a pregenerated character to play, enjoy their session, and (hopefully) rejoin us with a character of their own at a future time.
Convention names, dates, locations, and websites:
Marietta the Gathering
March 4
Historic Marietta Square, Marietta, GA

MomoCon
May 25-28
Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, GA

Southern-Fried Gaming Expo
July 28-30
Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel & Convention Center

DragonCon
August 31 – September 4
Midtown Atlanta
https://www.dragoncon.org/
Multiverse
October 20-22
Westin Atlanta Perimeter North
https://www.multiversecon.org/
MomoCon can trace its origin back to 2004, when the first convention took place under the name Techwood Con and has expanded greatly since it first was held. Planning is currently underway for MomoCon 2023, though it is likely safe to say that there will be an emphasis on lower to mid-level scenarios and bounties for PF2 and SF. Could PF1 be part of the mix? When the official schedule is complete, all will be revealed.
Southern-Fried Gaming Expo will be celebrating its 10th year this year. Last year was our first participating in this convention, and it was also their first year offering TTRPGs. We learned a lot and shared not only our learnings from this convention, but what we’ve learned from others with convention leadership so we can continue to grow together.
DragonCon began in 1987 with an initial estimated attendance of 1400. Its pre-pandemic attendance reached an estimated 85000 people in 2019. For those who may have missed the announcement made a few days ago (see https://atlantapfs.org/news.php?extend.42 for more on this), we plan to run 9 interactive specials at DragonCon this year and to offer tables of Pathfinder 1st Edition as well as 2nd Edition and Starfinder.
The conventions we support by offering game sessions either share or have similar values to Paizo Organized Play with respect to equality, diversity, and inclusion. The scenarios we offer also reflect these values.

Making DragonCon Special |

DragonCon 2023 is coming August 31 – September 4. While we are awaiting final word on whether we will be in the same location or how much floor space we’ll have, the planning started in September, when DragonCon 2022 ended.
We want DragonCon to be special, to be can’t miss, to be memorable. How do we plan to accomplish this? In a word – Specials! To expand on that – All the Specials!
That’s right. There are (or will be by the time DragonCon rolls around) 9 specials between PFS2 and SFS. The plan is to offer all of them.
There are 11 time slots at DragonCon
.
- Thursday 8 pm – 1 am
- Friday 9 am – 2 pm
- Friday 2 pm – 7 pm
- Friday 8 pm – 1 am
- Saturday 9 am – 2 pm
- Saturday 2 pm – 7 pm
- Saturday 8 pm – 1 am
- Sunday 9 am – 2 pm
- Sunday 2 pm – 7 pm
- Sunday 8 pm – 1 am
- Monday 9 am – 2 pm
The current plan has us at 12 tables (this number is subject to change, based on the number of volunteers we get). The proposed breakdown will be for in-person only, but that may change if we get online interest as well.
- 2 tables of Bounties on Demand (not offered in time slots 1, 4, 7, 10, or 11); 1 each of PF2 and SF
- 4 tables of PFS2 Scenarios
- 4 tables of SFS Scenarios
- 1 table of PFS1 Scenarios
- 1 table of Build & Play for PFS2 & SFS Character creation and bounties right after (also not offered in time slots 1, 4, 7, 10, or 11)
Why am I talking about it now? There are reasons, obviously, including an ulterior motive. The first reason is to get people thinking about DragonCon and talking about DragonCon. The second is the obvious reason – to get people to attend. The ulterior motive is simple – to pull this plan off, we need volunteers. To pull off this audacious plan, we need people to volunteer for GM, Overseer GM, and HQ/HQ GM spots. There are 117 GM spots, 9 Overseer GM spots, 11 HQ spots, and 11 GM HQ spots needing to be filled, for a total of 148 open spots. Signing up for 5 spots gets you a free badge for the entire convention. Additionally, for volunteering to run 3 slots or more, you get 6 tickets to play in games.
To volunteer or to get more information, visit https://atlantapfs.org, click on Join us on the top menu and then go to Volunteer for Conventions. That will trigger me adding you to a mailing list for DragonCon to send out more information as it comes in from the organizers.

Starfinder Society Scenario #4-14: Rasheen's Remembrance
A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for 7th- through 10th-level characters.
The legendary explorer Jelev Rasheen was one of the first to set off into the Drift in search of fame and fortune. After her mysterious disappearance, dozens of alleged children, partners, and adventuring companions began spreading one final tale about Rasheen: that she was last seen commanding a fleet of ships laden with treasure. Over the years many adventurers tried to trace her footsteps to find Rasheen's final resting place and, of course, her treasure. The Starfinder Society isn't above seeking out Rasheen's riches. Over the past few years Radaszam of the Acquisitives faction sent teams of Starfinders to search for Rasheen's resting palce, using coordinates decrypted from a beacon in the Vast. Now, the time has come to venture to the third set of coordinates. The coordinates lead to a desert world in the Vast covered by a sprawling necropolis. What secrets (and treasures!) will the Starfinders uncover within? Is this Rasheen's final resting place, or something else entirely?

Starfinder Adventure Path #46: The Perfect Storm (Drift Crashers 1 of 3)
The Drift Crisis has begun! When the Drift—the dimension that allows starships to travel faster than light—suddenly crashes, all the starships in it are hurled to random locations in the multiverse. Among these starships is the Marata, whose crew find themselves stranded in Hell, their starship now boasting a strange new artifact with the power to travel anywhere in space and time. Soon they're literally running from the devil, crashing through parallel universes, coming face to face with strange versions of themselves, and finally reaching an apocalyptic future where everyone they know is dead. Will they ever find their way home again?
"The Perfect Storm" is a Starfinder adventure for four 1st-level characters, launching the 3-volume Drift Crashers Adventure Path. Drift Crashers is part of the Drift Crisis, an event taking place across the entire Starfinder game line, in which faster-than-light travel breaks down and the galaxy is thrown into chaos. In addition to the adventure itself, this book includes a player's guide filled with character creation advice and new gear designed just for Drift Crashers players, along with an Adventure Toolbox filled with new rule options and strange alien creatures.
Each bi-monthly full-color softcover Starfinder Adventure Path volume contains a new installment of a series of interconnected science-fantasy quests that together create a fully developed plot of sweeping scale and epic challenges. Each 64-page volume also contains in-depth articles that detail and expand the Starfinder campaign setting and provide new rules, a host of exciting new monsters and alien races, a new planet to explore and starship to pilot, and more!
