Athens Minis
#1
Is there a good place in Athens to look for minis? I'd like to avoid shopping online if I can.

Tyche's has a really nice selection of unpainted Reaper minis, as well as a small selection of single minis for individual sale and wonderment, and booster packs from several of D&D and Paizo's series.

Dragonstar Hobbies has a pretty good selection of Pathfinder and D&D boosters, too.

Sometimes, if you're looking for something really specific, online is your best bet in the end.

How do boosters work? Is it like a pack of random minis within a given set or edition? Which ones are the higher quality, DnD or Pathfinder? Will I be defenestrated if I bring a DnD mini to a PFS game?

You are absolutely correct - boosters are usually 4 random minis (3 small/medium, 1 large) from a series.

Both Paizo and D&D have had variable quality over the years and series - tastes seem highly personal.

I remain brand-neutral when it comes to minis - whatever does the job best...

No one will mock you, push you out the window, or otherwise hassle you about your mini - have seen Lego men, rocks (from the parking lot), train diorama minis, and a bunch of other random stuff.

Good hunting!
