Essentially I'd rather not stay at a high priced convention hotel as I'm trying to be frugal.
So - hotels near MARTA stations. There are three areas; Chamblee/Doraville, Dunwoody/SandySprings, and ATL airport stations.
There's also downtown regulars; Holiday Inn Exp & Suites $127/n, Ramada Plaza Downtown $97/n.
Doraville 500m - Clarion $63/n
Chamblee 600m - Studio 6 $44/n.
Brookhaven 250m - Ext Stay Amer Buckhead $113/n.
Dunwoody 600m - Ext Stay Amer Perimiter S $75/n.
Sandy Springs 500m - Ext Stay Amer Perimiter N $75/n.
ATL airport 1000m(airport shuttle?) - Days Inn College Park $68/n, Red Lion Airport $75/n, Econolodge Airport $55/n.

Sandy Springs - The 2 Ext Stay Amer are $75 & $95/n. Lots of options in the area.
