I get that, but if it's any encouragement, there's no one who knows every rule from memory, or who understands all the crazy builds that are out there. I found that my transition to GM-ing was made much easier by the people playing at my table, who would help me out when I was unsure of a rule.
See, I think it's really my wife that intimidates me, because she can read a rulebook twice and have it basically memorized. She's DMed almost every long-term game I've played in, so I think I'm just holding myself to unreasonably high standards.
