What's this about a parking pass? This will be my first time at this park so I don't know the proceedure I guess

Before proceeding to Group Shelter B, you'll need to pick up a pass for State Parks Parking at the main gate or office.

They cost $5 for an all-day parking permit - and last year they also had envelopes available by Shelter B for folks to drop off Permit payments after the fact. 

That may not be the case this year, so make sure to check policies at the main entrance first.
