DragonCon 2024 is coming. Will you heed the call?
#1
DragonCon returns from August 28 to September 2, 2024! Unless we hear otherwise, we'll be back in AmericasMart 3 this year.

This year's plan is not as aggressive as last year's nine specials, but it's still ambitious in its own way.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Table GMs

  • Overseer GMs

  • GM HQ/On-Call GMs

  • Headquarters Staff
There are 11 gaming time slots, and volunteering for 5 or more earns you free admission for the weekend (note: a limit of 6 slots is imposed to prevent burnout). Each time slot requires a 5-hour commitment.

What's New This Year?

  • Charity Engagement: We'll participate in the DragonCon charity drive with charity boons available for raffle or auction. A "tip menu" at each table allows players to purchase rerolls, roll bonuses, or natural 20s/critical successes to benefit this year's charity, the Arthritis Foundation.

  • Starfinder 2E Playtest: Sessions will be scheduled throughout the weekend to showcase the new playtest launching in July.

  • Quests and Bounties On-Demand: Instead of scheduled quests or bounties, we'll offer these on-demand, sharing the player pool with DDAL. On-call GMs will need to gather players from the player pond as needed.

  • Flexible GM Assignments: If a GM's table doesn’t fill up for a time slot, they will be reassigned to on-call duties, HQ, or to assist another GM's table.

  • Character Creation Station: We aim to have a station where on-call GMs or HQ staff help players create characters for their sessions.
What Remains the Same?

  • PFS1, PFS2, and SFS1 will all be on the schedule.

  • There will be 2 specials: 1 for SFS and 1 for PFS2.

  • RPGChronicles will be used for sign-in sheets, chronicle generation, and reporting.
Next Steps:
Interested in volunteering? Fill out the Volunteer Form and we’ll reach out to get you scheduled.

Volunteer Cutoff:

  • GMs (all types) need to sign up at least 2 weeks in advance, aligning with DragonCon’s final schedule and ticketing deadlines.

  • HQ staff should be mostly scheduled by the 2-week cutoff, though additional HQ volunteers can be added beyond this point if needed (free badge qualification and t-shirt distribution may have earlier cutoffs).

For any other questions, feel free to reach out here or via email. We look forward to seeing you at DragonCon 2024!
