Sorrina Westyr - A Crunchy Lore Question - pgfrix - 07-17-2017
So...I just noted in _Adventurer's Guide_ that Master of Spells Sorrina Westyr is statted as 'Cleric of Nethys 10'. Wow. Did not see that coming.
For ease of discussion, here are some vitals on Nethys crunch:
Domains
Destruction, Knowledge, Magic, Protection, Rune
Subdomains
Arcane, Catastrophe, Divine, Defense, Education, Thought, Wards
So, in this context, I'd entertain comments from the peanut gallery as to exactly what the heck was going on mechanically in the following vignette from 8-00, The Cosmic Captive:
From further in, a terrible draconic roar accompanies the appearance of a flight of crystalline dragons sweeping out from the lip of a crater.
“Secure the gate! Do not let any of them through!” Westyr shouts as she sends a lance of swirling black and white energy into one of the wyrms, sending it careening end over end as the forces meet.

Uhm, they call it out in the scenario you find her.

Noted, and many thanks for the reminder. It's easy to see why one would forget that when, given opportunities in other appearances, she doesn't actually cast Plane Shift.
That said, I'm still wondering what this spell effect is:

Clever interpretation of Flame Strike (non-vertical?)
Clever interpretation of Shout
Disintegrate (L7 Domain) (too short, as statted)
Finger of Death (too short, wrong spell list)
Ring of Major Spell Storing
Compton's Fiat (Level Eleventy-Seven Deus Ex Machina)

Maybe Searing Light? Fits the ranged touch attack description and light even if it doesn't do much damage.

Nethys is N so she would have access to bad touch or good touch. Sounds like maybe a variant channel ray of the bad touch variety.
