Game-O-Rama 2018
#1
Are there any plans to have PFS events at Game-O-Rama again this year?

I haven't seen any posts to Warhorn.net yet for the convention, and I'm currently planning on attending the convention.  I'd even be open to help run some events at the convention should there be a need for GM's.

Anybody know if there are plans for PFS events there yet?

I was interested too, then I saw this on their site:

We hope to have a few roleplaying opportunities for the board game players in attendance, but the event will be mostly boardgaming and there will be no dedicated space available for just roleplaying.

Interesting. We probably would have had a presence there otherwise (albeit a small one... Game-O-Rama has never done well with the locals).

They usually don't have the space for us - the past years they had a hard cap on the number of tickets they could sell due to the venue constraints.

They also only sell weekend passes and no gimme passes for people putting on games. $50 for the whole weekend.

I'd suggest recruitment tables of pathfinder and starfinder quests 1 each if folks were interested. but don't be surprised at low response. We had very
little last time. Ward's a nice guy, but I don't expect him to go out of his way to accommodate us.
Yeah, yeah, here's my list:  https://www.pfstracker.net/#/players/43407/

Andocon is probably a better target and it is in March. But I think it usually ends up opposite not-a-con.

What was the historic scale of AndoCon circa 2016? Anyone plugged in with the DDAL crowd who could offer insight?

I can get us numbers on AndoCon but given Ando had to skip last year due to personal reasons it's kind of an open question of how this year will go.

I'm the Asst. Director of RPG actually with Mark Buffington being the Director of RPG.

So to be candid AndoCon this year is going to be tough for everyone.  Due to a venue change we only have 12 tables for RPG
and the direction from Ando is to split those between the set of RPG guests (wanting to promote their games) and various org play. Mark and I are currently reaching out to the creators to get their schedules and then fit in other games.

Another con option on the horizion is Atlanta Steampunk Expo in November.

They are wanting to add 'gaming'. I'm unsure yet if it is RPG or board game I'm trying to help the organizers
figure out what they want. In either case I'll be assisting with that con due to the fact that family is running it.

Sounds like a good target for a 'helping hands' commitment; while that may not enthuse the GAPFS regulars, it ought to grow the community which is good for everybody.
