I need some help. I'm thinking of creating a Human Icon Envoy. I'm a little confused on the ability boost for the theme. It says +1 CHA in the book. I've already focused on CHA to 18. Does that really mean I have a 19 ability score or an I reading this wrong?

You cannot have an ability score over 18, so you will need to redistribute one of those points elsewhere.
Also, I believe the theme ability boost will apply before you are supposed to add the ability points you get a character creation.
