Connooga 2018 - February 23-25, 2018
#1
Anybody heard anything about Connooga 2018? Its coming up soon, but I have seen nothing about it.

Edit: Talked to VC of Chattanooga and Connooga RP people. Connooga is not officially organized this year by Chattanooga Paizo Organized Play, and they are doing their own thing.

FEBRUARY 23RD - 25TH 2018
CHATTANOOGA, TN
At The Chattanooga Convention Center

Website: http://www.connooga.com/
Schedule: https://warhorn.net/events/connooga-2018?src=listings

They don't have any Starfinder because "it is hard to find GMs" according to the Connooga Organizer I communicated with.

They would like more GMs. Per the organizer that I contacted:
Quote:For anyone interested in GMing, they would have to run 12 hours of games (such as 3 events that are 4 hours each, or 6 events that are 2 hours each, or combination of the above options to make 12 hours of GMing), which will allow for a free weekend badge.  If you would like to GM, but don't have a game that you have prepared to offer at Connooga, you can volunteer to run an Adventure League or a PFS game that is available.

You can contact the Admin at: https://www.facebook.com/Roleplaying-at-...047082437/

If that does not work, have them email me directly.  They can also sign up for a game on Warhorn.
((I have his email if you want it.))

I haven't seen anything yet either

I know they had to find another venue fast after the Choo choo became private residences and
cancelled all events for 2018 in December.
Yeah, yeah, here's my list:  https://www.pfstracker.net/#/players/43407/

Looks like it. I've heard of this elsewhere as well. Some cities are enthusiastic adopters, others, not so much.

I emailed the VC for Chattanooga about it and had no reply... maybe it got lost in the Spam filter...

ACG has experienced a similar phenomenon, or so I hear. Popular some places, dead in others.

Thinking out of the box here, but a couple of good reasons why you wouldn't jump feet first into SFS:
1. FLGS has no retail inventory for sale;
2. Soured by past experience with other sci fi rpg or overwhelmingly brand loyal to other sci fi rpg, e.g. Star Wars d6, Star Wars Saga, XXVc, Star Frontiers, Traveller, etc.

Yeah, some areas take to certain things others don't. Florida has the Card Game blow up and go nuts around there. Here? It's pretty dead.

Updated with more data after communicating with organizer. They are still looking for people to run games, and offer free badges for 12 hrs worth of running. They would like some Starfinder, as I understand it.
