sorcerer retraining. - GaBiggunn - 06-08-2018

I was thinking of retraining my bloodline for my sorcerer.  Is this legal for PFS?  Also, not sure what the cost would be, it doesn't seem clear to me in the book.

Sorcerer: Retrain your bloodline. Doing so replaces your bonus spells, bloodline arcana, bloodline feats, and bloodline powers. This training takes 5 days for every bonus feat, bloodline arcana, and bloodline power you lose from changing bloodlines. See also retraining feats and retraining spells known.

Yes it is legal. Though it does seem to be saying that you have to pay to retrain pretty much everything your bloodline gave you so it looks expensive.

or just train out of sorcerer and back into it. might be cheaper.

Ok, thanks, I think I have this figured out.

Going from one class to another requires retraining class lvls from one to another. 5 day/lvl so Ill be lvl 13. 10x13x65 = 8450 gold. Than to retrain back into the sorcerer I want is the same cost, so total would be 16900.

Retraining my bloodline is 2 days per spell and 5 days per feat/power/arcana. So I have 5 bloodline spells for 10 days and 5 feats/powers for 25 days.
So, 35 days x 13 lvl x 10gp = 4550.

Does someone know if this adds up properly?

(The reason I'm doing this is I want to retrain my sorcerer bloodline from destined to psychic, cause I think the psychic bloodline is awesome ((and slightly overpowered Wink)

Update, forgot to add 1 bloodline arcana so retraining bloodline should be 5200.

Do keep in mind that in PFS you must spend 1 prestige per day of retraining. So 35 days for retraining your bloodline costs 35 prestige.

Is that on top of the gold cost or in place of it?

On top

I think I remember seeing a magic item somewhere that gave you the possibility of changing your bloodline. I can't remember if it was a chronicle-specific item or something that anyone can buy. And I also can't remember whether it opened the door to any bloodline, or just specific ones.

There are also - I think - some ways to get elements of other bloodlines, on top of your existing one. For example, the Eldritch Heritage feat sequence would give you access to some of the powers of another bloodline (but not the arcana, feats, spells, etc.) Since you are level 13, you would need 3 feats: Skill Focus (something), Eldritch Heritage, Improved Eldritch Heritage. Since you presumably have one open feat slot (if you've just hit 13), you could get the other two by retraining two of your existing feats, which would cost you: 2*50*13 = 1300 gp and 2*5= 10 prestige. Much more doable than retraining your entire 13 class levels!

Btw, the retrain rules are to be found in Ultimate Campaign (and may also have been reprinted in the PFS Guide to Org play?).

Here's the item I was thinking of: http://www.archivesofnethys.com/MagicWondrousDisplay.aspx?FinalName=Ampoule%20of%20False%20Blood but it doesn't appear to be PFS legal. I think I have seen a chronicle sheet where it was legal, but probably only for a specific designated bloodline, so that likely won't help you.
